Low and Steep Angle Victim Movement

Low Angle & Steep Angle movement is an intensive 24-hour course focused on the skills required to safely and effectively perform rescues on low- and steep-angle terrain. Designed for fire departments, mountain rescue, and industrial rescue teams, the course is tailored for individuals and teams who routinely operate in environments such as ravines, embankments, hiking trails, rocky shorelines and ski terrain.

The curriculum emphasizes essential equipment, knots, anchors, raise and lower systems, and effective patient packaging. Instruction is delivered through a balanced combination of classroom learning and hands-on field exercises, allowing students to apply concepts in realistic scenarios. The course is specifically tailored to address extraction challenges within each team’s response area, helping participants refine efficient, team-based systems that complement and strengthen existing high-angle rescue capabilities.
